A Warm Welcome at Yuwa Shelter

Thank you to the boys and the caretakers of Yuwa Shelter who welcomed me into their home and showed me the ropes. Yuwa is a friendly home to teenage boys from Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Congo and other countries where there is a mixture of Greek, English and Arabic spoken. I really enjoyed participating in all the day-to-day activities of the shelter from cutting vegetables in the kitchen to watering the herb garden on the roof to helping repaint the shelter. Most of all, I enjoyed hanging out and playing board games with my buddy from Syria.
