Yuwa Shelter for Boys

The Yuwa shelter which means youth in Hindi houses eighteen boys from 13 to 18 years old. The Home Project has created a safe and comfortable home for these boys who come from all over the world including Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia and Pakistan. The boys have decorated the outdoor space with a cheerful mural featuring their names and handprints. There is also a spice garden that they take care of.

Air conditioning units have recently been installed in the shelter thanks to the fundraising efforts of Faces of Our World and our partner organization, Midas. We are happy to keep the boys of Yuwa shelter a little cooler during Athens’ summer heat.

No children are photographed in order to protect their identities.
